Jeff Swanson was named director of Central Market Shoreline in 2018, but he’s no stranger to the company or to the business. In fact, he has worked in most of our markets in some capacity.
“We offer a great selection of goods here at Shoreline but the magic is in the people. They are authentic and caring. They enjoy what they’re doing, which transcends to everyone else. We will find the answer to our customers’ questions, and we will do our best to make you feel welcome.”
The Kirkland native began working for Town & Country Markets in 1985, first as a clerk in the Beer & Wine Shop at Ballard Market. He took on many roles — night crew, dairy manager, front-end supervisor and more — until he moved to the now-closed Overlake store, on the East Side, in the late 1980s. His next move was to Central Market Shoreline and then Greenwood Market (also closed) where he was market director for 10 years. In 2004, he was named merchandiser for the new Mill Creek store when it opened and eventually became director there, too. Now he has returned to Shoreline.
“It’s like seeing family that have been away for some time. It’s comforting and familiar, but slightly different, too. It’s a dance between all my experiences and the Shoreline staff’s tenure and expertise. We have a lot of new employees since I was here the first time, which has transformed us into a new team with new thoughts and energy. I am enjoying the ride!”
Working with Jeff in running the store are Market Managers Trina Hostak and James Swalwell.
