T&C employees get the benefit of a highly competitive benefits package. As they meet eligibility requirements, new employees become eligible for medical coverage ($5-$19 weekly premiums), vacation, sick time, seven paid holidays (plus time-and-a-half if you work on designated holidays) and a discount on virtually everything in our markets.  We also offer the following programs — employee assistance, vacation donation, employee referral bonus and a scholarship program. After a month of service, employees may participate in a 401(k) savings plan. And employees who have been with Town & Country markets for one year and have worked at least 1,000 hours per year, are eligible for a profit-sharing contribution as defined by the plan.


Like any good host, we like to be present when people come to visit, and in the retail grocery business that often means working weekends, holiday times and/or evening shifts.  We thrive on connecting with people during the busy times and we plan our schedules accordingly. 

Almost all of our store-level careers are union roles and affected by seniority.  Positions posted as “full time are anticipated to be at least 32 hours/week, while “part time” openings are typically fewer than 32 hours.  A job posted as “part/full-time” may vary in hours, but often results in a steady full-time position.

The Interview/Hiring Process

Our hiring coordinators work closely with store managers to identify their needs, and then meet with interested job-seekers to talk through the details of the job and the candidates’ relevant experience and qualifications.  We typically post jobs for 10 days and accept applications during that open posting period.  We contact the most qualified candidates as soon as possible after a position closes.
