  • 1 pound ground beef or pork
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups of your favorite sauce (such as barbecue or sandwich sauce)


Preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine all ingredients except sauce and mix well.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Place in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until well browned, gently turning once halfway through cooking. Ensure internal temperature reaches 155°F.
Thoroughly drain fat from baking dish and cover with sauce.
Place in a serving dish. Finished meatballs can also be placed in a crockpot to keep warm.

Serve as an appetizer, with or without bread.
