Panettone French Toast

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 (3/4-inch thick) slices Panettone
  • Maple syrup or confectioners’ sugar


In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or half-and-half and salt.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Dip each slice of panettone into the egg mixture. Turn once to thoroughly soak, then lift with a spatula and place in the hot skillet.
Cook until golden on the bottom (about 3 minutes) Turn and cook on the other side until the panettone is firm, puffed and golden.
Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup or a sprinkling of confectioners’ sugar.
