No-Bake Granola Bars

  • 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • 3 cups of your favorite granola
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries or blueberries)
  • 1/2 cup pretzel pieces
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Combine the brown sugar with the honey, salt and butter in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer. When the sugar dissolves – about two minutes – remove the saucepan from the heat.
Add the granola, dried fruit and pretzels to the saucepan. Fold the ingredients to evenly coat with the sauce and transfer the mixture to an ungreased 9- by 13-inch baking pan. Press firmly to fill evenly. Gently press the chocolate chips onto the top of the granola. Let the mixture set in the refrigerator until firm (about 15 minutes) and cut into 2 1/4-by 3-inch bars.
