Gluten-Free Ingredient Guide

This list is quite comprehensive and includes a wide range of whole foods, ingredients and food additives that you will find on food labels. We recommend you call manufacturers when you are unsure about a product, and that you check the label every time you buy a particular product as ingredients do sometimes change.

These are foods and additives that typically contain gluten
Keep in mind that many of them have gluten-free alternatives (i.e., crackers, cereals, beer, pasta, etc.).

These foods may contain gluten
There are differences based on how they are manufactured and what ingredients are used. Check the ingredient list for gluten-containing ingredients and additives.

These foods and additives are inherently gluten free
When in their pure form. But always be aware of the risk of cross-contamination, especially with grains. And check ingredient lists to be sure there are no unexpected additives.
