Blueberry Sauce

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, lemon juice and salt.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until blueberries just start to break apart.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve hot as a topping for pancakes, waffles or oatmeal, or cool to room temperature and serve over ice cream.
